How often have you felt pain and sadness?, and how many people do you know of who have not felt pain or sadness in their lives? I bet you the world that you don't know of any sane human being who has not felt pain or sadness.
before i can tell you how to stop the cycle of pain we must understand the different type's of pain, such as physical pain, the pain of growing old or getting sick or some one that you know of or love dyeing or leaving you, or just doing something that you don't want to do, but have to do such as (going to work or school etc) is also pain.
But people say that's apart of life, which is true but who likes to die and who likes to grow old and to get sick or feel sad? no one likes any of this but can any one stop this from happening?, how ever much money or power you may have no one ever can. You will get sick, grow old and do things that you don't want to do. You will feel sad and die, and after you die all that you had and worked for will be gone.
so knowing all this why do we bring more people (kid's) to this world to suffer and die?.
the only thing that one can be sure of when some one is born is that he/she will get sick will feel sad and do things they don't want to do and die, but still people say "what to do that's life" if you know that's life why bring a life into this world to suffer?, yet some say "if we bring up our kid's well they will have a good life's" but can any one stop pain? the answer is NO!.
what if the child you bring to this world becomes a drug addict or a rapist or a murderer and has to go to jail or has a very bad life? then people say "that's because of the bad choices they made for themselves, we taught them right from wrong they should know better". but the thing is....... they had to make those choice's because they were born (because their mother/father brought them into this world) .
every one thinks there is some thing to gain in life but the truth is all you gain is sadness and death.
Then some say if you don't like you're life why don't you just kill yourself, easier said than done, every one has a fear of death, and so do I, so the thing is, life is a trap that most can't get out of (you don't like to feel sad but your still afraid of dying) until you die, it sounds funny but that's how it is. I believe the worst ever SIN on earth is to bring someone who has never felt pain or sadness (a child) to this world to suffer and die.
The other thing that some people ask is, who will look after us when we grow old?. To them I say you are the worst of the worst, you bring someone to this world to go through pain so that you will have some one to look after you, very very very selfish.
Or they say it will be so nice to have a child, remember a child will not be a child for ever.
Why do people have children? people have children only because they like to have children and it's not because the child wanted to be born. None of us asked to come here. Do they think of what will happen by bringing a being that has never felt pain or sadness into this world. To feel pain is such a dreadful SIN.
Remember that when people have children they think only of themselves, they don't think of the child or what might happen, that is pure unadulterated selfishness. When people marry the first question their elders, friends, peers and all other associates ask is "so when are you going to have children?" Once the child is born can these people who wanted this pure being who has never felt pain suffering or sadness prevent all the above mentioned emotions from occurring ?once again the answer is NO!.
Ask you'r self this, would you like it if someone takes you and put's you some where with alot of sadness and pain without asking you, and Say's that it is a challenge for you or they say that you might like it as time goes by, or they say, that's life we had to do it, would you like it?. i'm a 100% sure that you wouldn't like it, so then is it right to bring a life to this world not knowing if they would like it or not?.
And many people say that religion can help to end pain or to ease it, but it is easier said than done. if religion works so well we wont need doctors and drugs (good or bad drugs). religion has created more problems than it has solved most wars in the world started because of religion, people get killed and hurt and tortured because of religion, now you must be thinking that's because people don't believe end follow the religion properly, so which ever way you look at it, it does not work. And now you buddhist's are saying buddhism is not a religion it's a philosophy, it all sounds nice but what ever you do pain will be there, and now you say that's what the buddha said yes it's true but the solution he gave to stop pain is not understood by 99.9999% of the people who are "buddhist's", to stop pain you need to stop rebirth, so think about it.
then you may ask about the happiness they might feel, happiness is something that you need after you come to this world, will any one remember the happiness after they die?.
And ask your self this, would you be sad or upset if you were not born.
then some might say that god has a plan for everything and he is testing us to see who will be good or not, but as i recall it is said that god knows everything that has happened, is happening and everything that will happen hmmmmm? so then if he knows who is going to do good why bother making the bad or evil ones in the first place, so that every one has to suffer, it sounds like something that an evil being would do, he knows what will happen a million years from now and who will be here and what they will do and how and why, so then?, all this is made up by man because humans need a reason for every thing and if there is no reason he will make up one no one wants to believe that it is over after you die. so now it's time for you to think.

well said,,its high time for the world to come to an end,,think couples end up having kids cause they are afraid having to be alone when old or else they dont have a choice, and they dont think of life the way you and I do,,pleasure wont be called pleasure if pain isnt known.The world would have been full of old ppl and hardly enough space for ppl to breath,and people would have no fear of death,resulting in worse crimes, in bigger numbers,,Anyway,think its a personal choice cause what scares , and hurts one doesnt seem to have the same impact on some other.

Just thought of something last night, after I read an article on how everything on earth, including our bodies, and souls and everything else we own or wish to own blongs only to god.I kept wondering why on earth us humanbeings, are only left with the feelings, of pain or happiness which finally moulds us into who we are. Why do we humans have to deal with all the pain,when we dont even belong to oursleves??? Its very inconsiderate of god, cause we are asked not to question, or grieve our losses but then why make us in a way we end up feeling everything that happens. The least he could do is to make us numb and have his own way with us, instead of everything else belonging to him, but the pain each situation leaves to be dealt by ourselves...Wiered,
I feel that you are an idiot. i have a child and i love her so much and will do any thing for her. i was without child for 7 years and now god has blest me with his grace. and how dare you call it a sin. Wish there was a way to be born in this world only if you wanted to be here, rather than someone else deciding to bring you in.. And then on life is spent living it for others sake till death,, which is even more painful than death itself...Life ends up being about making the people you care about happy, even if it means that you really arent happy doing what you do..it cant get any crazier than this.

The world is a very diffcult place to live in, and it is difficult to make a decsion as to whether it is a place you want to bring children into. Then there is the fact that the world is already grosely over populated and you don't want to contribute to that problem... I think the best solution would be to adopt a child who has already come into the world and has no family. It is better to look after the children that are already in the world, before bringing new children into the world.

Cos even if u try to give all the love you have to your children you can not stop them from feeling pain and some can deal with it some cant and they'd blame you for bringing them into this world cos u did so cos u wanted to may be cos that was something to tick off your to do list or just meaningless to keep a marriage together.. But All for the wrong reasons not cos of the love of the child.. So its better to look after a child that is here and make their life better than ruining a new life.. May be you should get a life!!

I have never thought of this until I read it here... yes, for the last 22 years of my life I have had experienced love, pain, grief, misery etc... But never did I think of life in this sense... This makes so much sense.. Well done CJ...!! You do make a lot of sense to people who are open for ideas, new information and change in this world... Though I was born as a Buddhist, I had the freedom to believe what I wanted to believe through my experiences and how I saw the world... I do agree reproduction is a complete selfish desire... Sometimes a child happens through a mistake, sometimes because two people were in love, sometimes because they wanted a family, some people want a child to take their name to another generation or sometimes to carry on your Family business, sometimes itz just about pride so that they can say My SON is and Engineer and my Daughter is a Doctor!! etc... This is all very very selfish...
Didn't God not want Adam and Eve to be together? Wasn't having children a consequence of not Obeying Your God??? Why did we humans do what God first asked us not to?? In my personal opinion, we are very selfish people and most of us (even I Might) blindly follow this cycle of life without thinking of the consequences.... But I know I am doing something wrong, more like something sinful... I admit it, but most people don't even want to admit that they are selfish..

its true,, but mistakes happen and its only human.. you can only pray to god, and hope for the best,,hoping that the child doesnt have to go through experiences that make her regret being born.Everyone goes through some level of pain in life and in unevitable, but may be the secret is bringing up ur child to be able to cope with the sorrows and pains life, and believe in herself and make her able to enjoy life and have no regrets ,.. If thats achieved then,I think you`ve succeeded as a parent....not everyone is the world regrets being born...
Making someone else pay for your mistakes is not something you should do it's an evil thing to do. And mistakes have never been made by a person who is not born. Why bring up a child to be able to cope with pain, would it not be better to not bring a child, so that he/she would not have any pain at all to begin with?.

dude i think ur correct to a certain extent like the last paragraph.., but some of it above that were written, a lil too harsh i thought..cz the process ur talking bout is nature.. for me its not god or allmighty o watever ppl would call it,its a force. its energy! when animals(including humans) are born they borrow a certain amount of energy from the universe and wen dying they give it back.. whilst the midst of this process.. the good or bad, pain or pleasure that comes about is created by within us.. it is how we manipulate the flow of energy we are been gifted with. i assume life is about abundance in every aspect you can think of so therefore all the actions or emotions bad, hatred, greed, pain etc are just created among ourselves.

From that piece, It is rather clear that you feel quite strongly about a couple of things: That of bringing new lives into this world, and that of the existence of god itself. These are two very different issues so I'm gonna go ahead and comment about the first one:
I agree to a certain extent to your apprehension in bringing children in to this world. In fact, I've believed the same notion for a while now.
The reasons however, are slightly different; firstly, you mention how it is the choices that we have to make that is a big injustice. I agree with this totally. Your choices from whether to feel affection for someone (family, friends), not feel at all, to care etc is where the pain actually starts from. Then the moral choices; religion, right and wrong (personal, professional, political), all the way upto choices of which desires to fulfill. The existence of desires at all. These are all difficult propositions that would make it so much easier without.
The other difficulty stems from the choice of feeling (as mentioned above)- generally, an individual is connected to the social system of a number of people. People that care and the others that you care about. The ones who love you and the ones you love. Whether it's a large family or a number of friends chances are you are going to have to face the reality of losing them sometime. I believe that this is the deepest pain and anyone's biggest fear. And it works the other way, when the individual itself leaves the world they would likely create a hole in the lives of everyone else.
I could live with the injustice of making choices and having to go through most kinds of pain, except the one of losing people and that of allowing people to feel the pain of losing you. That alone makes a strong case for not bringing a new life into the world.
Having said that..
We are created in the likeness of the Creator. Pain and Death came upon us due to ORIGINAL SIN.
Fortunately, by the Cross...... and... Resurrection.... we have now re-gained, our destiny, through FAITH, to ETERNAL LIFE.
Every Soul, belongs to the Creator. It is through our OWN WILL, we plan our own destination, either to be with the Creator OR With Satan,.... after Death.
It is the Creator's wish to see HIS own creations get multiplied and not destruction.

True. We all do feel pain but, there are so many good things in life which we can enjoy. This is why I believe that people should continue to bring children into this world. This is your opinion though and, you're entitled to it.

I was at a similar level of Wholistic Pain of which you speak. But since, I know that your ''god'' is just a concept in your head not universally accessible to everyone on the face of this planet and beyond, I made the free will decision to make my ''first cause'' be just that, i.e. accessible to every human on the face of this planet, and beyond, and it is simply the rigorous utilization of my reason and logic capabilities. Lo and behold, after the hardest work (on myself) I have ever done, I re-discovered that there is no necessity for a spirituality, a god or not-god, a mysticism, a magic of any kind, or a supernatural anything to grasp the TRUTH. The TRUTH IS, regardless of what you, or any other human or entity thinks, says, or does in any way to divert time and treasure away from seeking simply the TRUTH.
This is very true and has a deep meaning to it. To be totally honest I'm terrified only because I'm here. Like you said even you are afraid of death. But this is a very difficult thing to absorb but it's the truth. Great words
